Skyanalog Diamond 25th Edition Low Output MC Phono Cartridge
Skyanalog Diamond 25th Edition
State-of-the-art Diamond cantilever manufactured by Skyanalog. Empowered by the Yan suspension, it represents the highest standard of sound performance.
Skyanalog’s Diamond Cantilever
Skyanalog stands out in the analog manufacturing space through its commitment to in-house production. 99% of its components are carefully manufactured on high-precision CNC stations—a labor-intensive process that is crucial for sustainable development and efficient testing procedures.
Skyanalog is proud to introduce its latest innovation: the Skyanalog Diamond Cantilever, exclusively designed and manufactured in China.
The Pure Diamond Pickup System, improved by Yan
Skyanalog’s diamond cantilever represents a breakthrough in material development. The integration of the Yan suspension system with the diamond pickup sets new standards in sound reproduction:
1. The synergy between the diamond stylus and the diamond cantilever achieves unprecedented rigidity, virtually eliminating signal loss between the grooves and the cartridge. However, using the same material for both cantilever and stylus makes the system prone to resonance. This led Skyanalog to redesign a new suspension system to effectively control and reduce any unwanted resonances.
2. The lower density of diamond results in a lighter cantilever. This requires improved absorption of extraneous vibrations and a well-balanced dynamic suspension to ensure accurate signal reproduction without the need for higher tracking force.
3. The unique physical properties of diamond necessitate a tailor-made suspension concept. The Yan system ensures efficient vibration transmission without the risk of over-springing.
Note: The new Yan suspension system will be used across all product lines starting in 2024.
Construction Philosophy:
According to Skyanalog, the essence of MC pickups lies in the damping system, which is primarily defined by the interaction between the spring (piano wire) and the rubber ring. Moreover, the art of suspension is essentially about harmonizing all components so they work together seamlessly. As a result, all models in the new product line are carefully factory-tuned to a specification that ensures balanced musical reproduction in line with Skyanalog’s commitment to lifelike audio performance.
The Yan system was developed with the following objectives:
1. Minimizing information loss and distortion:
By refining spring and suspension materials, Skyanalog developed Yan to preserve the cartridge’s interactive audio signal and reduce audible distortions that could impair the listening experience.
2. Exceptional dynamic range and lifelike sound:
The system is designed to offer wide frequency and dynamic range, ensuring a spacious soundstage that closely resembles a live performance.
3. Improved transient response and clarity:
The optimized suspension mechanism allows agile responses to transient signals while ensuring clearer and more defined reproduction.
4. Analytical yet warm acoustics:
Yan was engineered to deliver analytical precision while maintaining a warm sound character that balances detail with musicality.
1. Tailor-made spring material with optimized elasticity:
A carefully calibrated damper design contributes to more precise vibration control and ensures more accurate high-frequency tracking—often a limitation in conventional MC cartridges.
2. Innovative rubber compound for the suspension:
Skyanalog’s new rubber compound provides greater rigidity, resulting in less information loss during playback. This increased rigidity does not compromise frequency response; in fact, it improves it, allowing for excellent tracking even at low tracking forces. The enhanced material properties enable effective damping across a broad frequency band without generating unwanted resonances.

About Skyanalog
Jack Leung, the founder of Skyanalog, developed an interest in building tube amplifiers at a very young age. He later attended South China University of Technology, where he graduated with a degree in electronic engineering. In the same year, he founded Skyanalog, which initially produced tube amplifiers. The company later transitioned to the analog sector, first as an OEM cartridge supplier to many well-known international brands (more than 20 brands and over 50 models) in 25 years of activity, also providing support for all MC cartridges, whether made by Skyanalog or other manufacturers.
The principle that inspired Jack Leung to design and build the Skyanalog cartridge line can be summarized in the belief that:
“Every detail counts,” with a focus on cartridge production based on three pillars: Precision Handmade, Top Quality, Reliable After Sale.
There are two main series in the current lineup: the P series, including models P1 and P2, and the G series, including models G1, G2, G3, and Reference.
Both the P and G series models use high-quality cantilevers, with boron being used even in the more affordable models (P1, P2, G1) and ruby and sapphire for the higher-performing ones (G2, G3, and Reference).
The weight of the P series models is 8.9 g. For the G series, it is 10 g, and for the Reference, it is 11 g. The internal impedance is 8 ohms for all models, except for the Reference, which has a value of 6 ohms. The output voltage is 0.4 mV for the P1, while all other models have an output of 3.5 mV. The frequency response within one dB (+/- 1 dB) varies depending on the model, ranging from 20 to 20,000 Hz for the P1, up to 25,000 Hz for the G series, and up to 30,000 Hz for the Reference.
