P1 Green: The further development of the P series:

The P1G adopts the open body design of the esteemed P1 and offers a simpler yet stable assembly thanks to a refined manufacturing process. The motor is from the P2 model and includes a square coil, boron cantilever and elliptical stylus from Japan. This integration results in the P1G offering the “high-end setup” in its price category.

New Suspension System “Yan”

Philosophy of construction: The essence of MC pickups is the damping system, which is essentially determined by the interaction between the spring (piano wire) and the rubber ring. In addition, the art of suspension essentially consists in matching all the components so that they work harmoniously. Consequently, all models in our new product line are carefully adjusted at the factory to a specification that guarantees balanced music reproduction and is consistent with our commitment to lifelike reproduction.

The new suspension system, Yan, was developed with the following objectives:

-Minimizing information loss and distortions:

By refining the spring and suspension materials, Yan aims to preserve the pickup’s interactive audio signal and reduce audible distortion that can detract from the listening experience.

-Exceptional dynamic range and lifelike sound:

-Improved transient response and clarity:

The optimized suspension mechanism enables an agile response to transient signals while ensuring clearer and more defined reproduction.

Founded in China at the turn of the millennium, Skyanalog has quietly established itself as one of the most respected manufacturers of high-quality phono cartridges in the global analog audio industry. For more than 25 years, the company has designed and manufactured cartridges on an OEM basis for many of the world’s most renowned cartridge brands, producing over 50,000 units across more than 50 different models. Through this extensive experience, Skyanalog has also developed deep expertise in the servicing and support of Moving Coil cartridges, both its own designs and those produced by other manufacturers.

The company was founded by Jack Leung, whose passion for electronics began at an early age while growing up in rural China. As a teenager he began collecting electronic components such as resistors and transistors, launching what he describes as his personal “DIY adventure.” By the age of 16, he had already built his first hi-fi tube amplifier. Leung later attended the South China University of Technology, graduating with a degree in Electronic Engineering. In the same year, he founded Skyanalog, initially focusing on the production of tube amplifiers for the domestic market before gradually transitioning into the high-end analog sector.

Over time, Skyanalog became a trusted OEM partner for many leading international audio brands. In 2019, the company decided to bring its own engineering expertise directly to the market by introducing a complete line of Moving Coil cartridges under the Skyanalog name.

Today, the Skyanalog lineup is organized into two main series. The P Series, consisting of the P1 and P2, represents the brand’s entry point into the world of high-performance moving-coil cartridges. The G Series includes the G1, G2, G3, and the flagship Reference, each designed to deliver progressively higher levels of performance.

All Skyanalog cartridges feature high-quality cantilever materials. Even the more accessible models (P1, P2, and G1) employ boron cantilevers, while the higher-performance designs (G2, G3, and Reference) utilize ruby and sapphire cantilevers for enhanced rigidity and precision.

The cartridges are carefully engineered with optimized mass and electrical characteristics. The P Series models weigh 8.9 g, the G Series cartridges weigh 10 g, and the Reference model reaches 11 g. Internal impedance is 8 ohms across the range, with the Reference model featuring 6 ohms. Output voltage is 0.4 mV for the P1, while the other models provide 0.35 mV output.

Frequency response (within ±1 dB) varies according to the model, ranging from 20 Hz – 20,000 Hz for the P1, extending to 25,000 Hz for the G Series, and reaching 30,000 Hz for the flagship Reference.
