Description

Acoustic Revive RKI-1803 Guiyang stone-impregnated silicon insulator

Vibration control is not only relevant for turntables. In modern hi-fi and AV systems, micro-vibrations can affect the mechanical stability of players, power supplies, and network or streaming devices, especially as systems become more resolving. The RKI-1803 was developed to bring Acoustic Revive’s “mineral-impregnated silicone” concept into a compact, easy-to-place format that can be used in many positions where traditional large feet are impractical.

Its small size (18 mm diameter and 3 mm thickness) makes it suitable for compact devices. It can be used under mini streamers, compact DACs, small power supplies, network switches, or lightweight speakers, where larger feet do not fit.

The silicone is impregnated with Guiyang stone powder and is described as having a vibration-processing structure. According to the manufacturer, when pressure is applied by the weight of the component, the material can generate negative ions, contributing to an anti-static effect that may improve perceived sound quality. In practice, the RKI-1803 is designed to address both mechanical vibration and electrostatic charge.

It features an adhesive backing on one side, allowing direct attachment to equipment. This is particularly useful for devices that are frequently moved, such as routers or HDD enclosures, or whenever a stable, non-slip placement is required.

Typical applications include small audio components, small speakers, power distributors, HDD/NAS units, and routers—devices that benefit from improved vibration control and a cleaner operating environment, especially where noise floor and micro-detail are important.

Each piece supports up to 10 kg, while a set of four supports up to 40 kg in total, covering a wide range of equipment from lightweight devices to compact heavier components while maintaining a minimal footprint.

The captivating sound quality of natural quartz

Until now, insulators have often introduced their own sonic character based on the physical properties of each material, and it became a matter of personal preference whether this was desirable. At Acoustic Revive, materials from around the world were tested in search of those that could improve quality without adding inherent coloration, and the final choices were natural smoky quartz and natural quartz. These materials not only improve quality without introducing their own sound signature, but also add an organic, lifelike character to reproduction, making instruments and vocals feel more realistic and “alive.”

Also effective beyond its role as an insulator

The RIQ-5010 can be used not only as an insulator, but also simply by placing it on top of equipment or near cable inputs and outputs, where it can produce the same organic and vivid effect. Some theories attribute this to electromagnetic wave absorption or far-infrared emission, but regardless of the explanation, it is considered to provide a sound quality improvement not achievable with other materials.

A sound quality level far beyond other hard or natural materials

While quartz glass and other natural stones have been used as insulators in the past, natural smoky quartz and natural quartz do not produce the hardness or dryness associated with those materials. They are characterized by a warm, smooth, organic, rich, and mellow sound. At the same time, they also balance seemingly contradictory qualities such as a crisp attack and fast decay.
