The SA1 offers eight audio presets and allows saving up to three custom PEQ settings, all adjustable via the FiiO Control app. Alongside standard pop, jazz, classical, R&B, and dance presets, it includes a specially optimized “monitoring” curve that flattens frequency response, transforming the SA1 into compact desktop active studio monitors.

3.5‑inch Wood‑Fibre Woofer
Compact yet powerful
Although entry‑level, the SA1’s 3.5‑inch woofer matches the size of those in the SP3/SP3 BT models and uses the same wood pulp material found in FT1 wooden headphones. The pure wood‑pulp diaphragm is lightweight and resilient, producing a rich sound. By tuning the pulp material and adjusting the mix of long and short fibers, the diaphragm is made stiffer and sound‑optimized. It yields a rich, full-bodied sound with lush, dense vocals. Not surprisingly, many renowned brands still use this driver type today. The 3.5‑inch woofer is paired with a wide 75 mm flexible suspension, enabling bass reproduction down to 65 Hz.

The SA1 uses a professional-grade aluminum‑magnesium alloy dome tweeter for clear, precise sound and a richly detailed experience. The internal amplification is handled by two Texas Instruments Class‑D TPA3118 digital amplifiers—one for the main driver set and another for the auxiliary set. The woofer delivers up to 20 W * 2, while the tweeter outputs up to 5 W * 2 each. The highly efficient, low-noise TPA3118 ensures signal purity.

2.0 Acoustic Design
Active two‑way electronic crossover
The SA1 is engineered as a pro-level active speaker. With a crossover set at 3.5 kHz—optimally matched to the driver, power supply, and circuitry—it achieves exceptional sound quality. The active second-order dual filtering enhances crossover flexibility and precision, effectively isolating driver signals, reducing intermodulation distortion, preventing driver overload, and significantly boosting energy efficiency.

Built‑In Phono Preamp
Includes standard RIAA equalization for faithful record playback. If you use a turntable without a built-in phono preamp (only PHONO output), just switch SA1 to “PHONO mode” to use its internal preamp. If your turntable already has one (e.g., FiiO TT13), set the input selector to “RCA IN.”

Subwoofer Output

Due to popular demand, the SA1 features an RCA subwoofer output (SUB OUT), allowing you to connect a powered sub and enjoy enhanced bass performance, even in larger rooms.

MDF Cabinet
Natural sound
The SA1 housing is made of high‑density MDF up to 12 mm thick, with 9 mm solid-wood veneer on the top and sides to reduce resonance for a purer, more natural sound. To simplify the front design and optimize sound, the SA1 has a rear bass-reflex tube that extends bass response down to 65 Hz—impressive power from compact speakers.

Physical Controls
Convenient operation
Two large physical knobs (one with an RGB light) and a large button on the main speaker's right side make the SA1 easy to use: use the dedicated knob to switch inputs and adjust volume, and rotate the tone control for bass. A long press powers on (RGB light on), a short press powers off (RGB light off).

Standby & Auto-Awake Support
If no input signal is detected for 20 minutes, SA1 enters standby. The RGB indicator turns red, then fully off after 20 minutes. When signal returns, the unit wakes automatically and restores the previous RGB color. *Energy-saving mode is on by default and supports auto standby/awake. It can be disabled via the companion app, after which the unit won’t automatically enter standby.
