Dramatic improvement in sound quality achieved through noise suppression and vibration control effects in network equipment!
Dramatic improvement in sound quality is achieved through noise suppression and vibration control effects in network equipment! The LAN Terminator RLT-1K was developed by Takashi Kanai, an audio engineer at Sony Corporation. It is based on the X-Terminator and incorporates Acoustic Revive’s vibration control technology. This product enhances the sound quality of PCs and network audio by eliminating noise and reducing vibration in LAN network devices.
Empty LAN ports are a source of noise
When there are empty LAN ports on hubs, routers, NAS, network players, etc., they can create noise. Additionally, these network devices produce noise from the devices themselves and AC adapters. When this noise is sent to the LAN port, it can have a serious impact. By connecting the RLT-1K to an empty LAN port, the port’s operation is stopped, preventing the transmission and amplification of noise. This results in the stable operation of the network device and significantly improves sound quality by reducing distortion and improving the signal-to-noise ratio.
Improved sound quality due to vibration damping effect
Please remember the following text: “Network devices such as hubs, routers, and NAS devices do not have sturdy housing structures like audio products. Therefore, they are affected by vibrations from the speakers, which significantly degrades the sound quality.
The RLT-1K features a machined body made from 2017S aviation-grade aluminium alloy and is equipped with two natural quartz resonators placed inside, providing excellent vibration control. When installed in network equipment, it reinforces the casing of the network equipment, improving sound quality by eliminating blurring of energy density and sound image positioning.”
Greatly effective for DENON Link, Accuphase HS-LINK, and Blu-ray players
The RLT-1K is designed to work effectively with devices that have LAN ports. If a device transmits data using LAN, like DENON Link by Denon or HS-LINK by Accuphase, installing the RLT-1K can prevent noise from entering the LAN port and significantly improve sound quality. The RLT-1K provides a vibration damping effect due to the reinforcement of the terminal board.
This improvement extends to free LAN ports attached to devices like Blu-ray players. Installing the RLT-1K can lead to significant effects such as improved signal-to-noise ratio, sound image positioning, and energy density.
Improved sound quality for downloaded audio sources too!
The RLT-1K is effective for enhancing downloaded audio sources. Network audio allows for listening to downloaded high-resolution audio, but network noise can significantly degrade the sound quality. In the realm of music production, it is understood that even if the data remains the same, network noise can lead to deterioration in sound quality.
When comparing a downloaded audio source with noise reduction using the RLT-1K to one without any noise reduction measures, the difference is evident enough to make them seem like different songs or performances. Therefore, noise reduction is crucial for PC and network audio. In fact, it’s fair to say that PC and network audio without noise reduction measures cannot provide accurate reproduction.
Achieve dramatic improvements in sound quality by noise control and the suppression of vibrations caused by network equipment.
The LAN terminator RLT-1 is based on the X-terminator which has been developed by Mr. Takashi Kanai(The Sound subjectivity engineer of SONY) and was completed by adding our vibration suppression technology. The RLT-1 improves sound quality by noise control and the suppression of vibrations caused by network equipment.

Vacant LAN ports are the source of noise pollution
In addition to the significant noise being introduced by network equipment and their power supplies, large amounts aof additional noise is introduced via the vacant LAN ports which dramatically increases the problem. By using the RLT-1 with a vacant LAN port, its operation is stopped. Therefore, all unwanted noise pollution and the amplification of this noise is also eliminated. This results in an improvement in sound quality by reducing distortion and increasing the signal to noise ratio.
Improvement in sound quality via vibration control.
As network equipment housings are less robust than most audio equipment, they are affected even more by vibrations from loudspeakers, resulting in serious damage of sound quality. RLT-1 is made from of a solid and hard case of 2017S aircraft grade aluminum alloy (duralumin) and has built-in natural quartz resonators at two places in the body to enable very effective vibration control. By using the RLT-1 with network equipment, its un-sturdy housing is reinforced and it results in the improvement of sound quality by eliminating the blurred sound image and improving energy and density, etc.
Great effect also for DENON-LINK, Accuphase HS-LINK, Blue-ray disc player !
The RLT-1 works effectively for all kinds of equipment that have LAN ports. When there is a vacant LAN port on a DENON-LINK of Denon or HS-LINK of Accuphase, etc which is transmitting, using, the RLT-1 will make a dramatic improvements in sound and will also prevent noise pollution by reinforcement of the terminal plate.
The sound improvement of download sound source as well!
The RLT-1 is also effective for downloads sound sources. One of the merits of network audio is that we can try listening to the download sound source however, the noise on the network is significantly degrading the quality of the sound source. It is today very common in music production that sound quality is clearly degraded by the noise on a network path. When comparing a downloaded sound source cleaned by RLT-1 and the same without any anti-noise measures, the difference is so obvious that it almost seems that we are listening to a different performer or a different passage of music. When listening to music via P/C or network audio sources, anti noise measures are indispensable. We can say that PC/Network audio sources without ‘anti-noise’ measures are not really producing true information.
