The Phono Box S3 B is an entry-level phono preamplifier that offers a fully balanced design in a compact and elegant format. We have packed numerous high-end features into this small chassis. One of these is our new True Balanced connection. Until now, at Pro-Ject, balanced connections were exclusive to our RS product range. The Phono Box S3 B brings these features to an incredibly affordable entry-level product.

TRUE HIGH-END FOR THE NEW ENTRY LEVEL
Our Phono Box S3 B features a completely redesigned enclosure. The larger dimensions have allowed us to integrate a range of new features at this price point. The new steel and aluminum chassis also provides high rigidity and excellent shielding from external interference—essential characteristics for the new internal technology. You can connect up to two turntables at the same time, and all parameters for each input are stored. The Phono Box S3 B pairs perfectly with a wide variety of cartridges. Gain adjustment allows precise matching of the output to other sources such as CD players or streaming devices. Ultra-low values like 50 pF or 10 ohms ensure flexibility in any setup.

FULLY DISCRETE AND SYMMETRICAL GAIN STAGE
The new gain stage of the Phono Box S3 B uses a fully discrete layout. A discrete circuit is made up of individual electronic components and devices. The amplification section is built from single components and does not use any integrated circuits! This results in a longer and more costly design process, but delivers the best possible sound quality. The fully symmetrical gain stage optimizes the signal-to-noise ratio, feeding the semi-passive RIAA equalization stage with a clean signal to work with.

TRUE BALANCED CONNECTION
The symmetrical design is the key defining feature! Connect your turntable via the 5-pin mini XLR cable and enjoy the benefits of a balanced signal path. A truly balanced gain stage is able to extract the finest musical details while effectively filtering out noise caused by interference from modern home environments (appliances, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, power cables, audio amplifiers).
