Power amplifier with Bluetooth LDAC

The LEVEL 1 is a compact desktop power amplifier built around the Texas Instruments TPA3255 platform, capable of delivering up to 2×300W while maintaining a footprint closer to a notebook than a traditional amplifier. It includes Bluetooth 6.0 with LDAC support, USB, coaxial, and line-level inputs, as well as dedicated outputs for speakers, subwoofer, and pre-out connections.

2 × 300W power output

Despite its compact size, the LEVEL 1 is designed to power a wide range of speakers effectively. It delivers up to 2×300W into 4Ω, making it suitable for bookshelf speakers, desktop monitors, and even some floorstanding models. The standard 48V/5A power supply ensures reliable everyday performance, while higher-capacity supplies can provide additional dynamic headroom when needed.

TI amplification with low distortion

At its core, the amplifier uses the Texas Instruments TPA3255 chipset. Thanks to integrated feedback architecture and high-speed error correction, it achieves very low distortion while maintaining high efficiency. This results in stable output with a signal-to-noise ratio of around 105dB and very low THD+N, preserving detail without introducing audible noise.

Audiophile-focused internal design

The internal layout is engineered for signal integrity and stability. A six-layer PCB with reinforced copper traces ensures clean power distribution, while shielded inductors reduce electromagnetic interference. Capacitors from WIMA, Nichicon, and ELNA are used in key stages to maintain tonal balance and control across the frequency spectrum.

Flexible input connectivity

The LEVEL 1 supports a variety of sources, including USB, coaxial, line-in, and Bluetooth. This makes it easy to connect computers, streamers, CD players, or smartphones. USB input supports up to 24-bit/96kHz PCM playback, allowing direct digital connection without the need for an external DAC.

Subwoofer and pre-out integration

Dedicated subwoofer and pre-out outputs allow the system to expand according to user needs. You can add a powered subwoofer for extended low frequencies or connect an external amplifier for more complex setups. This flexibility makes it suitable for both simple stereo systems and more advanced configurations.

Manual tone controls

The front panel features independent bass and treble knobs, offering direct control over tonal balance. Adjustments are smooth and intuitive, allowing quick sound customization based on speakers, recordings, or listening preferences without accessing menus or software.

Bluetooth with LDAC support

Bluetooth 6.0 provides wireless connectivity with support for SBC, AAC, and LDAC codecs. With LDAC capable of transmitting up to 990 kbps, more musical detail is preserved compared to standard Bluetooth, making it a practical option for higher-quality wireless listening.

Metal and wood construction

The chassis combines aluminum alloy with real wood side panels, giving the unit a solid and refined appearance on any desk or shelf. This construction also enhances durability and helps with heat dissipation during extended use.

High-current external power supply

The included 48V/5A power adapter is designed for stable current delivery with low ripple noise. This contributes to cleaner output, improved dynamic control, and consistent performance, especially when driving more demanding speakers.

Lector Audio ZAX-70 - 2 × 70 Watt Solid-State Integrated Amplifier

The ZAX design project marks a new era for amplifiers, introducing new concepts aimed at creating an amplifier capable of driving any load under any input-signal condition. The ZAX design is based on a high-voltage (120 V DC), high-current (±20 A) circuit. To achieve this ambitious goal, our engineers required custom-made components:

• Special high-current, high-voltage transistors capable of handling low-amplitude signals.
• Special output devices featuring transistors capable of handling high currents and equipped with integrated temperature compensation.
• A special high-energy, low-flux-loss AC mains power transformer.

The result is the ZAX design! The ZAX delivers extraordinary sound quality: the FET stage provides a smooth and fluid soundstage, while the high-energy power transistors ensure excellent performance, with detailed high frequencies and authoritative, well-defined bass.

The electronic circuit is based exclusively on discrete components, transistors and FETs (input device), with no integrated circuits used in the signal path! (ICs cannot deliver high current!)

The amplifier features 5 high-level line inputs, an output for the loudspeaker system, and a tape-recording output.

The ZAX-70 replaces the ZAX-60 model. The new integrated amplifier offers increased power of 70 W per channel into 8 ohms and a chassis design that harmonizes with the other models in the range (CDP-603 CD player and Digitube). The ZAX-70 represents the evolution of the ZAX-60 for the “R” series of transistor electronics, characterized by a chassis with rounded sides. The shape is not merely an aesthetic evolution, but also ensures greater chassis rigidity, improved mechanical behavior of the cabinet, and better vibration control.

The ZAX-70 is designed with an exclusively transistor-based circuit, without the use of integrated circuits in the signal path. The bipolar transistors have been selected for their high current capability, reaching a peak current of 12 A! There is only one capacitor in the signal path; it is not electrolytic, but a high-quality film capacitor. There are no limitations on the current capability of the output stage, which can therefore drive loudspeakers with low load impedances.

The volume control is operated by an ALPS Blue Velvet series potentiometer; the control position is indicated by a blue LED, specially designed for its anti-static properties. A volume-controlled passive output allows connection of an active subwoofer or a headphone amplifier.

As with the chassis design, particular attention has been paid to eliminating and controlling every vibration generated by the power transformer.

An aluminum remote control is supplied for operating the amplifier's volume.
