At its core is a 75W audiophile-grade toroidal transformer, built using a grain-oriented silicon steel circular core. This design minimizes eddy currents, reduces magnetic leakage, and ensures a smooth, uniform coil structure for a perfectly consistent magnetic field. The 75W power reserve easily handles demanding dynamic transients, delivering solid bass and a clear, well-defined soundstage—performance that switching power supplies simply cannot match.

The DARKSIDE PRO features a fully discrete NMOS voltage regulation circuit with dual high-current IRFZ34NPBF MOSFETs in parallel. This topology lowers internal resistance, improves dynamic range, and ensures extremely fast transient response, while also minimizing heat generation. Output noise is exceptionally low: Vrms ≤17μV (A-weighted) at 12V and Vrms ≤30μV (A-weighted) at 15V, making the DARKSIDE PRO one of the quietest linear power supplies available for desktop audiophile systems.

High-quality audiophile components are used throughout. A Japanese Shindengen D15XB60 bridge rectifier minimizes micro-interference caused by current fluctuations. The capacitor bank includes 5 ELNA capacitors, 7 Rubycon filter capacitors, and 2 WIMA film capacitors, effectively reducing power supply noise. Internal wiring uses monocrystalline silver-plated copper DC cables, reducing transmission losses and shielding against electromagnetic interference (EMI) for improved detail and resolution.

Switching between 12V and 15V output is managed by an integrated relay that precisely matches the transformer’s secondary voltage to the selected setting, maximizing efficiency and reducing heat during operation. A precision potentiometer allows fine voltage adjustment to perfectly match connected devices. A self-resetting fuse provides intelligent overcurrent protection for safe, long-term use.

The DARKSIDE PRO is housed in a durable unibody aluminum chassis, sharing the minimalist design language of the FiiO K13 series.
