NEW - Aurorasound VIDA-Prima
Aurorasound didn't finish surprising us! After the release of its flagship, the phono preamp VIDA Supreme, the Japanese manufacturer launches a new high-end model: the phono preamp VIDA Prima, which integrates all the know-how and the true essence of Aurorasound.
In this project, the NF type and the CR in the RIAA compensation circuit were combined, in order to reproduce a rich and massive sound, with good SNR and THD + N factors.
Chassis - The "vintage/modern" look of Aurorasound devices is preserved: the aluminium structure is covered with a wooden 'shell'.
Front and back panel - The front part offers only a LED light as an ignition indicator and the 'big and famous' Mute switch. On the back we find the RCA inputs and outputs, as well as an IEC power socket. In addition, there are 2 rotary switches: the first one allows to select the MM or MC gain, at 40 or 64dB; the second which is able to select different load settings, MM, MC high level or MC low level.
In this way the use of this device has been simplified as much as possibile.
The circuit - The RIAA internal circuit combines the NC compensation with a CR type, in order to reproduce a soft but full-bodied sound, limiting distortion and favouring a good signal-to-noise ratio.
The components - They have been selected for their performance and musicality: with Texas Instruments semiconductors, WIMA film capacitors Made in Germany, Precision resins Made in Japan...
Schotoky power supply - This time the power supply has been placed inside the VIDA Prima, around a toroidal power transformer, with fast diodes, which generates a lot of energy but remains silent, guaranteeing craftsmanship but at the same time a certain quality in audiophile experience.
With this phono preamplifier, Aurorasound offers an high performance product that preserves its identity, and the typical philosophy of this company, at a simply incredible price.
