The Spendor A6R is a major revision of the highly acclaimed A6. The new Spendor 18cm main drive unit features technology developed for the D7 high resolution speaker. This drive unit together with an all new crossover design utilising upgraded components extends both the low and high frequency range.
The large section linear flow reflex design reduces air velocity and port turbulence giving linear and unrestricted low frequency response. The high quality terminals and short signal path, gold crossover network are combined into a monobloc assembly anchored directly to the cabinet structure.
The ultra rigid cabinet with Spendor's dynamic damping system gives super fast response, whilst high linearity components, silver plated cables and Spendors machined stabiliser system all contribute to the class leading performance.

Spendor A Line
The new Spendor A5 and A6 are compact high performance floor standing loudspeakers. Each model benefits from important advances in Spendor's drive unit technology, cabinet design and crossover engineering.
The fourth generation Spendor 'linear flow' port give the A5 and A6 unrivalled ability to deliver deep articulate bass. Spendors Dynamic Damping system uses constrained polymer dampers at key energy interface points, instantly converting any spurious energy in the cabinet into inaudible heat for a naturally fast and engaging sound.
The new steel stabiliser disk system eliminates flexure at the plinth and contributes to the neat appearance and good stability of these slim cabinets. Clean modern styling blends confidently with any decor.
Spendor Audio at a glance
Spendor loudspeakers are designed and hand built at the Spendor factory in Hailsham, Sussex in the UK. Traditional craftmanship, skilled design capability and modern engineering materials all combine to produce superbly built loudspeakers with models to suit any taste or application.
Spendors unique bass and mid drive units are also designed and built in Hailsham. Many other manufacturers are content to buy in standard, or slightly modified versions of drive units easily obtainable from component suppliers, whilst claiming the drive units as their own. Not so with Spendor. The main drivers are the heart of the loudspeaker, and should be designed and built with care, and without compromise.
Originally founded in the 1960's by Spencer and Dorothy Hughes, Spendor grew out of the expertise gained in the BBC's sound engineering department. The original BC1 design became the studio monitor of choice and soon this and other designs were to be developed for the consumer market.
For well over 30 years a succession of distinctive and innovative products has set a reference standard for consumer and professional users. Many Spendor designs have earned international cult status amongst discerning audiophiles and sound engineers, and the virtues of such classics as the Spendor BC1 and LS3/5a are embodied in today's products.
