Extreamly clean power supply suitable for almost any DAC.
One of the best priced opportunities for sound improvement of USB audio: It's amazing, how much sound improvement you can get from a dedicated low-noise power supply for the USB chip of a DAC and other USB devices like: external harddrives, external CD-drive, Digital-to-Digital convertors and any other USB-bus driven devices.
For your information:
The DAC still needs its regular power supply. Only the USB sector is fed with the AQVOX low-noise power supply, because 95% of all USB-DAC´s gets its power from the computer via the USB cable.
The Problem:
The USB chips of most DACs are directly fed with 5 V voltage via the USB cable from the computer. However, alongside with the regular 5 V 30 mV up to 150 mV noise voltage are being transmitted.
The more unclean the voltage is USB chips are supplied with, the more imperfect is their sound performance. Furthermore, most USB chips generate the digital clock from that 5 V voltage. However, the more the power supply voltage varies or contains noise, the more inexact is the generated clock, resulting in jitter and other sound degrading problems. But clock generation is only one problem. Moreover, the performance of the whole circiutry of the USB chip is being affected, thereby downgrading the quality of the output signal significantly.
The Solution:
The powerful, stabilized AQVOX USB Low-Noise power supply only has approx. 1 mV noise voltage. It is equipped with a unique USB adapter, of which one side is being pluged to the USB socket of the DAC and which back side takes in the connector of the USB cable. Inside that adapter only the two USB data lines are routed through, the 5 V power supply lines coming from the computer are being terminated and replaced by the extreamly clean voltage of the AQVOX USB-Low-Noise power supply.
AQVOX Low-Noise Power Supply with USB-Adapter. A simple but very effective and unique solution.
